Horror: An In-Depth Look
The horror genre is quite a interesting topic to about . Many can argue about movies and which is more influenced the horror movies of today's world . People say that Scream an Psycho
are the most influential because they both introduced many new techniques and styles or story . Both films are slasher films , but they but have different plots which give a different feel of horror.
The movie Scream is a more modern day movie with color and the movie has a much more different plot than other slasher movies. The movie is about killings in a small town that involve some students at a high school . The killings are very twisted and include a weird killer that asks what’s your favorite scary movie. I feel that this movie was inspired by the movie psycho due to the fact that it is a slasher film and includes some shared techniques. For starters the first thing is shared is the main character being killed . the second technique included is the placement of sound both films use different music but have similar placement. For explain in both films before something would happen things would be quiet then the music would ramp up.this why psycho is much more influential than scream because in a way it gave birth to the creation of scream it self.
But on the other hand scream did give birth to many other movies then physco even tho psycho spawned a tv series. Scream had many other advanced techniques the physico did not have like the rules of killing and the costume of the killer . The rules of killing involve that you must be a virgin to not be killed and that you can't drink alcohol the list goes on . but this spawned so many other things in today's horror movies like saw and the other movies that include serial killers.
Overall both movies are very influential to all horror movies around the world . They both give great techniques and plots .
